Bidrage med feedbackWe had here two breakfasts while staying at Scandic Tampere City. The restaurant is located in the stylish atrium of this hotel. The breakfast was handled very well considering that the hotel was fully booked because of school holidays. Tables were cleaned efficiently. It was easy to find a clean table. The food selection is wide, the usual Scandic. In Tampere, you will also get black sausage.
The restaurant is very spacious which has made it possible to place the tables with reasonable distances from other tables during this corona-time. We had escargots and gambas as starters. Both were tasty and reasonably small leaving room for the main dish. We both had a Scandic Friends pepper steak, which was also quite good. The best part of the dinner was the orange creme brulee with mango sorbet and passion fruit. It was really delicious1. Brulee and sorbet were brought to the table in some funny stone aged-like looking clay pots. I prefer enjoying my dessert from lighter styled dishes. The service was carried out nicely with several did you like it -inquiries.
This restaurant is the hotel restaurant for the Scandic City Hotel. We had one dinner here while staying at the hotel. Pepper steaks were delicious. The service was friendly but on the slow side. Many dishes have special prices for Scandic Friends members to compensate for the removal of the restaurant vouchers because of the corona pandemic. The pepper steak was just 25,90 (normal price 35,40).
When we entered the place there was no waiter nor information where should we go to check our reservation-yet(!)You can only come if you reserve table, but no service provided at first for reservations like restaurant. We had to approach bar to ask about our reservation and then guy in full surprise and unorganized manner showed us to table which looked rather more for drinking coffee then for dinner. Anyway... it’s Finland don’t expect high end services in most places. Food was good the brisket was nicely tender and very very tasty, potatoes little bit on a undercooked side (hard in middle), sides (onion rings and broccoli flowers) very good. Interior is interesting but also rather cafeteria looking then dinning.
Stumbled upon this restaurant as I was trying to find somewhere for a bite before catching a train. The waitress who served me was very helpful and was happy to make changes to my order. The ribs were very good and served very appealingly. Wish I had time to stay for pudding too!
