Waterworks Grill - Tampa

After reading all the reviews, we decided to check it out for ourselves. Unfortunately, our experience was a bit disappointing. They ran out of two of our entrée choices early in the afternoon, just before dinner. Although we tried some of the other dishes, they were nothing special—just average fare. The location is fantastic, though. With a few improvements, it could be the perfect spot any day of the week!

We were a group of ten who gathered to do some planning, and I must say, the service was exceptional. They accommodated our request to sit in a quiet part of the restaurant and even lowered the background music so we could have our discussions. Our drinks and food arrived promptly and were absolutely delicious. It was such a pleasant experience that our group is eager to meet again next month. Thank you, Waterworks!

Good place to eat after a walk around the boardwalk and for pre-show or post show performances in the straz center.

We sat on Saturday night in a strange and otherwise completely empty dining room with decor, which looked like it was for a final ball in the 80s. (the neighboring bar looked like it might have been a hip atmosphere. After we waited for at least 10-15 minutes without having a server stop at our table, we left fear that we would miss our show in straz if the service would be so slow. I can't comment on the foods, drinks or worth because we don't make it so long, but I wouldn't go back.

We had reservations. The hostess was pleasant, because it was a 6:30pm reservation and they were a bit slower the hostess was also our waitress. She was very helpful with the menu. We both ordered the catch of the day which was blackened grouper, kale and a side of roasted potatoes. I had a glass of delicious Riesling wine. The meal did take a little longer than we expected and might have been a problem if we had not been there 1.5 hours before our show at the Straz. Without us asking they brought or charging for it, they brought out an appetizer and apologized for the time for our meal. Overall we were impressed. The food was delicious, it was quiet and easy to have a private conversation. The staff were very friendly and professional.
