Rusty Pelican - Tampa

I liked the atmosphere and Willy was great! He gave us great service and was very nice and polite. The French Onion Soup was super delicious and I would get it back. The potatoes were pretty good. The fairies were so-so and the paella was not good. I wouldn't order that again. The rice was thick and muddy and the taste taste tasted like tomato sauce. So I was pretty disappointed for $70. I would go back and give him another try for the service and mood, but I hope the food is much better!

Energetic is not the word. Annoyingly loud is appropriate. It was just a terrible atmosphere like a Chili 's or Applebee 's. If you are ok with that, go and stick to seafood. Food was good, but not $100 a person good. Service was good, but not as attentive as you would expect for fine dining . The atmosphere was more business meetings but loud like a singles bar, vs a dinner on the water, we could not hold a conversation at our table it was so loud. Steak was mediocre very charry tasting and the beet smudge on the plate was disgusting did not fit for the plate. Same with broccolini side- weird. Like trying too hard weird (broccoli three ways, is more master chef on tv, and not desirable on a plate. IMO) all the Seafood Appetizers were all excellent, ceaser was weird (not romaine), Stuffed Grouper and Risotto was amazing.

My wife and I enjoyed it so much that we’ll be back when we’re in Florida again. Sandy was awesome, great times and great food!!
