Jimbo's Pit Bar-b-q - Tampa

1st time eating here. I had the combo, beef, ribs, and sausage. The beef had a small smoke ring, and it didn't have a good flavor, and the texture was like rubber. It's the best way I can explain it. However, the ribs and sausage were very good and would return for that. I love a good brisket and was disappointed it was not on the menu. Only 1 sause from what I could see. I was staying at a hotel down the street. The place looks old from the outside so I assumed it has been there for years and would be good. Lots of old license plates on the walls. It was 7:30pm and place very empty. Only one waitress who could not care about anything, and I was only her third occupied table. Chicken must have been sitting in steam table as it was dry. Hush puppies were almost cold and flavorless. Mac cheese was ok but definitely not freshly made. Side salad was fresh and good portion and tasty vineagrette. I'm sure this place used to be great at one time but not on my visit and i did not notice any mgmt around to try and improve a restaurant guest experience.

I have gone there since I was 10 years old. I'm now 63. Good food ,nice people. Very clean. Quick service.
