Bidrage med feedbackThis was my first time trying hotpot and I really enjoyed it. There were two of us so we were able to choose two broths, and we went with the tomato and Chinese herb broths. The buffet selection was quite large, with many vegetarian options that I was excited to try. I wasn't a fan of the fake meat dishes, but the fresh vegetables and mushrooms were delicious. The meal, including a drink and dessert, cost about 500 NTD per person. The staff were very friendly, although they didn't speak much English. Overall, it was a very pleasant dining experience at a lovely restaurant.
The variety of ingredients available was good, with the usual fresh vegetables and fake meats, though the selection of fake meats was a bit disappointing. One unique item was coral jelly, also known as sea bird nest, which thickens the soup if cooked for too long. There were also some cooked dishes that were not bad, and we particularly enjoyed the fresh and sweet passion fruit and pineapple. The buffet also offered a good selection of Meiji ice cream. Although there is a supposed 100-minute time limit, we visited on a late Saturday afternoon when it was not crowded and were allowed to take our time.
As StephieLin mentioned, this hotpot restaurant is excellent with delicious broths and a wide variety of ingredients to choose from. However, it's worth noting that not all items are vegan, as some non-vegan items are labelled and they also offer fake meat options that may not be suitable for vegans. It is recommended to avoid these, especially considering recent scandals surrounding fake meat. On the other hand, there are plenty of fresh vegetables and tofu dishes to enjoy. During my visit, they offered sorbet and a fruit spread for dessert, as well as amazing condiments and sauces. The cost of my dinner was 500NT, which I found to be good value for the quality of food. If you're in Taipei for a short time and looking for a hotpot experience, I recommend Guangfu Loving Hut. For an all-you-can-eat experience, Fruitful Food is also a great option nearby. However, if you live in the area or have more time to explore, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit.
I've been to Like Lotus Hot Pot twice now and each visit has been very satisfying. The soup base is less greasy compared to other vegan/vegeterian hot pot restaurants (e.g. Carefully Addictive Hot Pot). They offer a wide variety of fresh vegetables, whole foods and some faux meat. Some items on the shelf are not vegan but they have labels to point those out. The overall dinning experience was really good. I would definitely return to the place for another massive feed.
I have been to this restaurant many times and it's one of the good ones that I would recommend my friends and family. In fact, it's my mom's favorite when it comes to hotpot. You can order three different soup base in one pot to share. We always get the pumpkin, tomato, and medicine base ones every time I go there with my family or friends.
