Gumboot Manor - Taihape

I'll really miss stopping here. It was my halfway point for a bathroom break and a snack, especially on those chilly days by the warm fire.

This restaurant seems to be a mandatory stop for the bus traveling from Rotorua to Wellington, and the staff are clearly equipped to handle the influx of busloads of diners. The food is typical for a place like this—decent but overpriced, capitalizing on somewhat captive customers (a common occurrence on New Zealand roads). Despite that, it was still an enjoyable experience, though not one I would describe as unforgettable.

Beautiful kai, nice warm atmosphere an hospitality. Sad to hear the ladies are closing tomorrow.

Went with our 3 children. Perfect Dining Experience. Lovely Staff and very cosy with the fire burning. The lamb shank was Mouth Watering. The kids meals and deserts were perfect for kids. Will definitely be our regular stop on our road trips.
