Fish Friar - Syracuse

That evening, there was a special offering of lobster rolls. We ordered one served cold with a zesty lemon mayo and another warm with butter. I preferred the cold version, as the lemon mayo paired wonderfully with the lobster. We also shared a basket of fries that were perfectly crispy. I was a bit disappointed to learn that they don't currently offer desserts, but I was told they are planning to add them in the future. I can't wait to return!

"This is a review from a little while ago. It was our first visit to the restaurant. I ordered the signature fish and chips, and I was impressed! The haddock was perfectly cooked—soft and moist, not at all dry. The batter was nice and crispy, and the oil tasted fresh, not oxidized. There are many different seafood dishes on the menu, and I'm looking forward to trying something else on my next visit! By the way, the restaurant’s interior was quite charming!"

The scallops paired beautifully with the wine. They offer an excellent selection of beers and wines. The atmosphere is perfect for a romantic date night. As a pescatarian, I appreciate seafood, but the fish and chips were just average. The fries were basic, and the haddock didn't stand out either; the breading lacked flavor. I hope they reconsider the breading. The fried shrimp was also underwhelming.

This place is very tasty. The menu has some very good options. The service is friendly. The beer choices are very extensive. We just dined in for the first time. We'd always done take out. If you are in the mood for fried fish or seafood this is agreat choice.

The haddock is the best. They have a really good selection of wine for the price. I love the cosy candle-fairy light ambience. Staff is charming, had a great time. Also, this is totally your savior if you are in a big group wanting to get dinner insyracuse without a reservation.
