K M Seafood Market And Grill - Sylva

I discovered this restaurant while visiting from Alabama, and I must say, I've had shrimp all along the Gulf Coast, but this was among the best I've ever tasted. The shrimp was fresh, the breading was just right, and it was not greasy at all. I can't wait to return and try the crab legs as well as get more shrimp! It did take a little while for our food to arrive, but I understood why—everything was cooked to perfection. On top of that, there was great music playing, which added to the atmosphere.

Cajun cuisine at its finest! The only downside is that they sometimes sell out quickly. The chef only prepares dishes with fresh ingredients. It's also a fantastic spot to pick up fresh seafood. We always make it a point to stop here whenever we're in Sylva. I highly recommend trying the swamp fries. Food: 5/5

Situated in a strip mall, the ambiance isn't the best, but the food more than compensates for it. I ordered the Shrimp Po'boy, and although the shrimp weren't particularly large, there were plenty of them! The remoulade was the ideal complement to the sandwich and also worked wonderfully for dipping the onion rings.

So I've only been here twice because it's extremely out of the way for me, but the food is wonderful, the staff do a great job, and it's affordable. What more could you ask for? The atmosphere is a little odd, maybe just due to the weird location tucked back in the corner, but maybe that will at least save one good business in sylva from having to relocate!

We moved here from Florida, from arguably the Shrimp Capital in NE Florida. We know shrimp. The shrimp at K&M are the real thing. They are not farm raised shrimp. They are wild and delicious. Take my word I know. We have bought shrimp to bring home and we have eaten at the restaurant. They serve the same delicious shrimp in the restaurant that they sell in the market. Top quality. I have also bought fish from them and it is the same high quality. Please visit this market so that they remain in Sylva with incredible shrimp and seafood.
