Bidrage med feedbackI had the chicken green curry here, and while it was a great situation to eat, the dishes were very confused. Chicken breast was used rather than chicken legs, who created a rough texture with my dish. Aroma, however, was amazing.
One of the few places in Sydney, the Padhai get right. At least it resemble what you get from Street Stall in Bangkok. They also make pretty good curry and sticky crispy pork. The price is on expensive side, but I think that's to expect as it is in the ivy.
Merivale event partipants; They had two dishes - fried tofu and chicken Satay. They were both Okay, pretty ordinary taste. Tofu was fried nicely but the sauce was pretty uneventful. goodtasteguide.blogspot.com
Been to Sushi E for Lunch to celebrate my birthday. We had: Assorted Sashimi platter, Sushi E style kingfish, Salmon Tartare & two Maki Rolls (spider & Balmain bug) Positives -Ingredients in the sashimi platter are very fresh, -Wasabi in the sashimi platter are real wasabi (not those green powder cake you can get from a tub) -Chef's signature sashimi are contempoary & generous in size -Sushi E Kingfish is delicious -Comfortable & stylish location Negatives -One small fish scale on the bonito sashimi -The wait staffs are a let down. E.g 1. Product knowledge: Does not know difference between a chu-toro or oo-toro. E.g 2. Need to chase up the waiter to refill the green tea (it was a 30mins wait) E.g 3. Pushy -waiter inisit to collect our plates while we are still enjoying the food. Will I go there again? May be, but I will not expect much from the waiteress. Score? 3.5/5
Very expensive place with a classy vibe to it which is good for dates, special occasions etc. You can be seated around the bar where you can watch the chefs prepare the food for you, or be seated behind them on small intimate tables. We were able to get seats straight away on a Thursday night (~6:30pm) which was awesome. Had some problems with our order though wherein they brought us a dish that we didn't order and mixed up another one of our dishes. They let us have one free of charge which was very nice of them, and they charged for the other one since we decided to keep it. We later realised they never brought us one of our other dishes, so we checked up on it and turns out our waitress didn't put the order through. It was fine though since at this point, we were quite full. Overall, mistakes were made and it wasn't a big deal but service was just a bit slow at times. Onto the food! Most of the sashimi/sushi was great, some pieces were pretty tough to chew, perhaps served too soon. Sushi E Style Kingfish was very tasty, nothing amazing but it was quite a decent portion which was good considering the pricetag. My favourite dish was definitely the Miso Cod - so succulent, so very delicious. Would definitely recommend it. They also gave us all some complementary panna cotta, which was a lovely surprise :) Overall, the food is above average and very well presented but I'm really not sure if it's worth the price.
