Bidrage med feedbackMy favorite Vietnamese restaurant in Sydney is Banh Xeo Bar. I have been a fan since they started with their market stall. The menu offers a variety of options, but my favorite dish is the Banh Xeo with pumpkin. The flavors are amazing, especially when paired with their homemade chili sauce. The organic produce is fresh and the homemade condiments and pickled onion complement each other perfectly. I can't get enough of the eggplant croquettes, they are like little bursts of goodness. Make sure you save room for them! If you're in the mood for a Banh Mi, try the soy sauce eggs. The huge roll is packed with delicious flavors that won't disappoint.
We have eaten at this restaurant multiple times and the food is truly amazing - everything is homemade. Every dish we tried was scrumptious and the service was exceptional. As a chef myself, I can confidently say that this is the best Vietnamese restaurant I've ever been to. It's clear that the food is prepared with a lot of passion and attention to detail.
The restaurant offers excellent food and friendly service. My favorite dish is the Ban Xeo (pancake), and the noodle salad bowl is also delicious. I appreciate the commitment to nose to tail eating on the menu, which is well executed.
It 's just stupid to give a 'cheap eats ' award to a place selling $15 banh mi and $20-$28 banh xeo. This is definitely an expensive cafe. However, it 's probably decent value by the standards of the Cannery because the banh xeo is quite big and comes with lettuce and mint on the side, plus the pork and other stuff in mine was very tasty (didn 't even need the kimchi that I ordered with it for flavour). The mushy eggplant croquettes were even tastier. The Vietnamese iced coffee was also great with a rich flavour but good smooth balance of the ingredients, and they didn 't charge any more for that than other places.
I’ve been to Banh Xeo Bar in The Cannery in Rosebery a few times now, their bun bo hue is awesome and I love their bone marrow so for my bday lunch with the fam I decided it was time for the ½ Berkshire pig head $79.50)!. The pig head takes about 30-40mins to roast so we order some dishes to share while we wait. The Lemongrass chicken Banh Xeo $25) has a 15mins wait warning message but it’s definitely worth the wait. The banh xeo is massive and every bit as tasty as it looked! Super crispy lacy edges and choc a block filled with fragrant chicken pieces and fat beansprouts.
