Bidrage med feedbackAbsolutely stunning. A classic, National Park lodge with a long history. The setting is just unparalleled and you'll see a lot of wildlife, even within steps from the hotel. Plenty of great hiking nearby.Nearby activities: Hiking the Grinnell-Glacier Trail was a nice half-day trip. We walked the whole route but you can take the boat to cut your trip time.
Definitely worth the drive, even though the road is not completely paved and quite rough in many areas. We did not stay overnight, just came to hike, and have lunch at Ptarmigan Dining Hall. The parking lot sits high above the hotel, with a number of steps getting you down to lake level. There are multiple opportunities to take great photos along the way. The inside of the hotel has that wonderful lodge-feel that you get in many of our national parks.
Expect a wait. This place seems pretty popular but it is the only restaurant in this hotel. I would visit the bar next door while you wait for your name to be called to help kill time. It was worth the wait. My chicken was incredibly moist and flavorful. They sat us down next to the window, which was a beautiful view of the mountains. Staff was very friendly and helpful with helping me decide what to order. Thank you.

Lovely spot to stop inside Glacier, on the Many Glacier side. We stopped twice for a drink and set on the patio where lots of people hang out and spot wildlife. We saw black bears both times! One was swimming in the lake in front of us, near kayaks. Lots of other food options in the resort, including fruit and espressos, which we generally don't hope to find.Nearby activities: can rent kayak or go horseback riding!
