Fortes Gelateria - Swanage

Five of us stopped for coffee's yesterday, which were excellent as was the service to the extent that my wife unfortunately left her purse with money cards behind. A surprise knock at the door this evening resulted with it's safe return (30 odd miles from Swanage).

Disappointed and inconvenienced because they refused to accept a Scottish banknote in payment.

Ice cream is amazing with a unique variety of flavours. The people were very nice and the service was quick. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Service: Take out Meal type: Other Price per person: £1–10 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

The absolute best ice cream i’ve ever had and i would class myself as something of an ice cream connoisseur i will now always tie in a swanage trip when taking the dog for a walk at studland!

Worth queueing for. Brought my young Italian friends on a day trip to include a visit to Fortes ,the best ice cream on the South Coast ,established in 1926 by an Italian and still run by the family .If I was ever working in the area, whatever the time of year, I would always have a cone here. They did not disappoint .Good value ,sizeable portion, reasonable price for hand made product from an independent business. I did ask for my favourite caramelised fig flavour (unavailable),I did not ask if they still produce it as there was a long queue, so settled on honeycomb.
