Rodmersham Village Coffee Shop - Swale

I am writing this review on behalf of my two aunts, who are regular visitors to this coffee shop. They wanted to express their appreciation for the wonderful staff and the kindness they have consistently shown during their visits. The scones are absolutely delicious - the best they have ever tasted. They always eagerly anticipate their next visit to the coffee shop.

I have been to Rodmersham coffee shop several times now and each visit has been fantastic. The staff are always friendly, welcoming, and talkative. They offer a variety of hot and cold beverages, lunch choices, delicious homemade cakes and scones (the cheese scones are particularly outstanding), and all at reasonable prices. Situated in a serene village not too far from the city center, a visit to Rodmersham coffee shop is a definite must if you happen to be in the area.

The food at this restaurant was satisfactory, although the menu was limited. Two out of the three staff members were pleasant and polite, but one staff member was unfriendly and impolite. This individual seemed to not want to be there and made us feel unwelcome. Despite this, we ordered our food and drinks and sat outside. When we requested sugar, we were told it should have already been on the table, although it wasn't. We were made to feel like it was our fault for asking. We enjoyed our meal and joked about the situation, but upon leaving, only two out of the three staff members bid us farewell kindly. The third staff member ignored us completely, indicating she did not want to interact with us or any other customers. While we hope she was just having a bad day, we will not be returning to this establishment. It is disappointing that there may not be many job opportunities for young people in the village, but we would have expected better customer service from someone who relies on customer patronage for their wages.

I have gone away disappointed as one of the staff came across shirty which included serving someone before me when she saw I was waiting. Whist serving this other person she bickered with her other staff member. Then she asked some other customers where they would like to sit that had just walked in then she proceeded to bang boxes around loudly when they chose a table that had boxes on! My soup had a strange mouldy flavour but I certainly was not going to complain......... when we left said goodbye we were ignored. Rude!!

Lovely little coffee shop, Covid safe. Excellent quality of food, good portions and value for money. Treated ourselves to a naughty cake after our salad, home-made bread pudding was to die for! Home-made scones were the best I have ever tasted. Highly recommended cafe.
