The Crown - Sutton Coldfield

One of my favorite mber inns, always a great atmosphere. love her band nights. they have some great offers for eating. but food directly from the menu without deal) is quite expensive for the run of the mühle pub grub. I have paid for a small plate of veggie burger and chips around £11.

Friendly helpful staff Heather is a gem lovely decor, cosy, spotlessly clean and great atmosphere, attractive patio area outside, great tables and chairs and a good distance away from the main road so no exhaust fumes from passing cars. This pub has everything you could want surely. Sadly the food lets it down for me and my wife and the food is what we chiefly go there for. on the value menu, the fish and chips, the fish portion is miniscule and it's only tasteless pollock the chargrilled chicken meal we have tried 3 times and on 2 occasions I could have re-soled one of my shoes with the tough overcooked chicken breast. I did try the grilled sea bass fillet meal priced £12.79p and it consists of 2 small sea bass fillets, 3 asparagus spears and several smallish squishy glazed potatoes. As a drinking establishment I would easily give the crown 5 stars, my wife and me are sad that we won't go there to eat again.

Had our lunch and drinks at around 3.30pm on a Friday. Lovely lunch and good selection of beers. We were disappointed with our desserts which the menu states 'served with a Cadbury flake '. This was not the case as the only sign of a flake was around a teaspoon of crumbled chocolate on a Chocolate munchies Sundae and far less on the mini chocolate munchies sundae.
