Bidrage med feedbackGood wholesome delicious and most important of all Spicy Thai food in Surry Hills. My go to dish of late at Thai restaurants has been Fish Salad done extra spicy. The Grilled Salmon Green Mango Salad is a favorite!I'm having the Crispy Duck Massaman Curry tonight and loving every bit of it!U can BYO your fav wine for $4 corkage per head (a tad steep imho why not have it per bottle). Friendly staff.
Out of so many thai restaurant in Sydney, uber thai is certainly one of the good one if not the best . Was told they are similar to melbourne's chin chin, which I totally dun think so as this place is more of thai traditional and elegance , without fusion .<br/ The taste of the food is pretty strong and heavy but at the same time very delicious. Hence we ended up having three serve of rice and got charge $9 for just the rice. (Thought that's abit ripped off). Despite that, I absolutely love the dishes that I ordered- grilled salmon and mango salad, crispy pork in yellow curry paste, and the fish wrapped with betel leaf. Will certainly be back to try the duck massaman curry that the staff strongly recommend yet we don't feel like having today. <br/
The restaurant is more expensive than the nearby Thai place, but it is definitely more upscale with a focus on presentation and a more intimate and polished interior decor. The usual favorites are elevated and presented in a fancier way (like the king prawn pad Thai), while the pricier starters are unique and delicious (the scallop salad was a standout). The beef curry with potatoes was tasty, with generous portions, although slightly unbalanced (there was a lot of curry left after finishing the rice). Overall, this is probably a better choice for a date night than a casual weeknight takeout dinner.
Excellent service and good food. Their scallops are delicious, whereas the salmon mango salad in mains was my go-to dish.Three entrees plus four mains and fried rice cost $112; good value!
MEMO: Book through Dimmi for reservations. Avoid corkage fees by grabbing a drink at the nearby Strawberry Hills Hotel.
