Tokyo Bird - Surry Hills

Bartender seemed confused that I wanted a drink, and just a drink.

Tokyo Bird has to be one of my favourite cocktail bars in Sydney. It's a Japanese whisky bar, but to be honest, so much more than that.

Celebrating Tuesday is something I've enjoyed doing for well over a decadeIt breaks up the week at a time when the lull at its worst.

The food here is incredible! Everything we ordered was not only good, but amazing. The menu is small and good for sharing lots of small dishes with friends. We had the Katsu chicken nuggets, gyoza, crispy cauliflower, crispy rice cakes, edamame, wagyu skewers and cheese sausage skewers. I honestly couldn't pick a favourite as they were all so incredible. The great service and lovely atmosphere capped the night off nicely. For a group of 4 adults, it worked out at $45 each for plenty of food and a bottle or two of wine. Definitely worth a visit!

Great spot - tiny! Really tiny but good service and a collection of whiskey that is set to impress! The food was great. Pork belly !! We could stop at pork belly. Ok while you are at it the fried cauliflower is brilliant! Make sure you book, get there early or are prepared to wait for a seat.
