Great Aunty Three - Surry Hills

Really disappointed to see a once great establishment had fallen so far to have to microwave their pre-packaged noodle soups. The chicken was tough and tasteless. Others have tried other items but with no luck.

Had the prawn noodle salad ($14)- noodles over cooked and tasted like been precooked the night before. Prawns not fresh and were probably from a packet. The only thing decent on the plate was the veggies (but that only requires chopping up!)... and even that was bleh as most of it was the mixed lead salad you'd find in a Woolies salad packet. Most disappointing was the fish sauce - it's supposed to be the thing that gels the whole dish together!... I've never tasted a more tasteless fish sauce than this one, just so so plain overall. Go to ANY other real Viet restaurant (you know the ones with the greasy tables) for authentic Viet food. This place just has the looks to appeal to the white Aussie group.. but it isn't Viet. Overpriced too! ...Considering the portion size and quality of food. They've gone downhill a lot since they first opened..

Quite a casual place that probably gets a lot of takeaway traffic but you can also sit in. The staff are so friendly here it really made for a lovely experience. I opted for the prawn rice noodle salad. They were generous with the prawns and the sauce had a great flavour. It was a lovely dish! I just wish its was packed with a bit more salad.

Lovely Vietnamese restaurant in Surry Hills, bottom end, near Elizabeth Street. It is very casual, almost takeaway style, but you can eat in. There's banh mi, Pho, and rice bowls. I got a rice bowl that came with salad, a fried egg and your choice of protein. I couldn't decide what to get so the lovely lady offered half pork and beef so I could decide what I liked best for next time. Beef was a lot more tender, but the pork crackle was amazing. Probably the best bahn mi you can get. They've really taken the humble roll and jacked it up to a new level of awesomeness. If it wasn't for the price, I'd be here for lunch all the time
