Bills - Surry Hills

Dropped by Bills after the original place was closed. The owner was rude and extremely arrogant but the menu looked great so gave the place a shot. The food was expensive but the service from the waitresses was great. Food was delicious. In short if you can put up with the arrogant owner and look beyond that it's worth a visit.

Can 't book for Bills and so we arrived early (noon) for lunch. The Cafe was about a third full and the staff were happy to push some tables together for our party of 6. Menus distributed and mineral water delivered we waited...and waited for about 20 minutes which was a shame 'cos this was a business lunch and we had some time constraints (maybe next time we should say). That said the food was pretty good I had the prawn linguine followed by a terrific pavlova, which can be recommended without hesitation as a top way to finish wait staff not particularly keen to intrude by asking if you 'd like anything which is a shame if you do.

I have often thought of visiting Bills in the past but didn't have the time. We did on our last trip and I want impressed at all. The food was mediocre and the service, while friendly was very poor. We waited for quite some time to be served, once seated. The couple beside us st down after, was served their food , finished and left by the time we were served our food. The couple were needlessly apologetic, the staff didn't seem to care or know! I won't be returning and don't recommend. Sorry Bill, I have a few of your cook books too!!

It's always the hotcakes for me at Bills and a sunrise smoothie. Yes, on sunny days, there's a queue, but a bit of patience is all that is required. The staff are generally friendly and efficient (although the waitress who served me today was icy; this is very unusual). Bills is bright, fairly noisy and happily predictable. It's great to have this place as a mainstay in Sydney's long list of very good cafes.

We visit the restaurant an early morning and it was almost full. Excellent food, looking beautyful and tasted great. Fast service and a good varaity to choose from, everyone found something they wanted. Clean toilets as well.
