Bidrage med feedbackWhen I first entered I thought it was just a bar and I didn't expect extraordinary dishes. Me and my friend ordered tasting menu with matching drinks and it was amazing! Every single dish was superb, and the drinks matched perfectly. We started with the oysters and sashimi, then we had dumplings,, fish and steak, finished off with sorbet and dessert wine. Everything was amazing and the service was great!
Ordered too much (my fault) as everything looked great and lived up to expectation. Tempura battered corn...what a hit!!! Service was attentive and prompt. Good value although the wine list is up there but then, that's Sydney. Tip to owners..dust the light globes and bottles.
We stumbled across bar h one afternoon and decided to give it a shot. Reservation process was easy and we were excited! Unfortunately, the drinks were served to early before the meals, meals were to small for three people, not explained very well, deserts should have been served in individual portions, when we asked if we could have a top up on the matching drinks we were met with attitude. The food was yum, BUT we spend $140 per head and all left peckish and won't go back.
Bar H has been around for a while now and, after the initial flurry of excitement about how good it is, I forgot it. I went back last week and it is simply one of Sydney's gems. it boasts great sharing plates - an unusual but tasty menu full of fresh produce and delicious seasoning. Equally, it has a fabulous wine list and the service is friendly and warm. Bar H has a sultry and welcoming vibe - long may it last.
What a great find Bar H was! Very small but cosy Asian Fusion tapas type food. The pork dumplings were like never tasted before. Aromatic, delicate and very, very moreish. The spatchcock main was one of the tastiest poultry dishes I've eaten. Carrots in a creamy radish dressing sauce. The French Chenin Blanc was a great accompaniment. An added bonus was being 'right there' with the chefs on the other side of the bar. Their precision, care and passion made each dish a masterpiece. One of the 'go to' food places in Sydney.
