Bang Street Food - Surry Hills

I loved Trunk road. Like Eatventures below I also attended the fun InstaFoodieEvents bloggers lunch so can't review the place to its full extent as I did not have a sit down meal and enjoy the place as it is designed to be enjoyed.  It embraces an old colonial India decor and is art deco in design with fantastic wood panelling and antiques around the place. The menu is very simple as it is meant to be with only a few items to choose from that regularly change. It is the type of place I worshipped when I lived in Darlo - completely unpretentious with some delicious but simple food and a comfortable place to eat and drink at with your friends. The curry fries made my day and the roadies are brilliant. They are basically Indian wraps served on roti. These have four selections and the very cool part is there is a curry of the day. Hell, I even enjoyed a cauliflower salad that normal makes me cringe and the crispy, spiced chickpeas were fun to snack on. They offer beer, wine and cocktails, this place is AMAZING.  When I get in there properly to write a full review I will post it on the blog but enjoy the pics I got. Unfortunately, curry had torn out, but despite this charming quirky joint. The curry fries were delicious and had the chicken and paneer rottis, which were well balanced and tasted great. The cauliflower in my opinion had a tiny so far too much Garam Masala. This was a great little find and I would recommend it to anyone. One of the best meals I had in Sydney.

We ordered one of everything from the menu. The curry fries are a huge plus! We got two of them! But the best of the menu would have to be the VEG Roadie! Mmm ... The Paneer ... for those back to go safely!

Hilies yesterday for a licking birthday snack and was not disappointed. Grief Grief A really cool underground underground "Victorian pub style" games sporty inspired street food. Grief Grief Butterhuhn Rodeos (believe that Malaysian Rotti filled with Tandoor chicken, cucumber and tomato in a velvety smooth butter chicken sauce is dipped in a kebab) - that's a must! The Rotti was steamy, stretchy and seductively crispy on the outside. Other Rodeo's are a steak with melted cheese (a bit like a ungrate cheeseburger I think) and a spicy vegan-paneer curry one (I think I have it right?) Grief A bowl of delicious chicken wings (not deep fried, but cooked in a tandoor) and I sat down immediately fresh lemon, which transferred to her and introduced into my chicken hole. They were soooo juicy, tangy, sticky and adorable, I had to stop it from rolling in the kitchen to lick the residue in the Tandoor Oven. Yes, I licked my plate. Grief Grief All this wobbled with a high glass of gasmilting milk tea (the staff offered again and again, to make my tea "dirty" (alcoholic) Grief Overall, a really good feed and a new concept in a cooled place with cold employees. Grief Grief The biggest regret does not have enough stomach room for the famous thrilling curry fries.
