Umami Sushi Surrey

This is our favorite sushi restaurant in Cloverdale, and we've always had a great experience. The rolls are delicious, and the sashimi is very fresh. The service is efficient, though not overly warm. We prefer the Cloverdale location over the new one.

I visit a lot of Japanese and sushi restaurants, and I have to say that this one doesn’t rank among the best I’ve tried. It’s decent if you’re looking for something close by, but there are much better options just a short drive away. The prices are average. I would suggest giving this place a miss.

The pricing is among the most reasonable in Surrey and Cloverdale. Many places in Sullivan charge way too much! I used to work at Tokyo Joe's on Broadway, where our prices were significantly better than most places we visit. However, the prices at Umami are fair and appropriate for their location. The restaurant itself is very inviting and clean, adorned with lovely Japanese décor. The food quality is outstanding—no stale, discolored salmon here! Everything tastes incredibly fresh, and like many Japanese restaurants, the sushi bar is open for all to see. We’ve never had to complain about incorrect orders or poor flavors. We're also thrilled that they expanded to Langley and are open on Sundays, as it can be surprisingly difficult to find a sushi restaurant open on Sundays in Cloverdale and Langley. Overall, it’s a fantastic deal for delicious food!

I've dined at this restaurant numerous times and have always appreciated the food. It's consistently clean, the service is friendly (especially since I know the owner, haha), and the food is always delicious. I usually go for the tempura udon with agedashi tofu, some cones, or an unagi roll. It's been three years since my last visit, but I'm eager to return and see if there are any new items on the menu.

Excellent value and welcoming staff! I had been looking for a quality sushi spot for some time, and this restaurant truly exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend giving it a try! All in all, it was a fantastic experience.
