Bidrage med feedbackMy spouse and I recently had lunch at this restaurant and we both decided to try the Black Blue burger. It was delicious and definitely the best burger we have ever had. We have dined here before and have always been impressed with the top-quality food and service.
In our continuous search for live music, dancing, and fun in Vancouver, known as the "City of No Fun," my husband and I recently visited a friend's band at this restaurant. As pescovegetarian seniors who don't drink much and enjoy hearing at least one Cars song per set, we found this place tucked away in a mall, with a slightly hidden entrance in the back. Despite the location, they feature fantastic live bands. The food is tasty, the service is excellent, and the menu offers healthy options, including special diet choices and a selection of mocktails and alcohol-free beers. The venue is small, so arrive early to secure seating near the band.
The restaurant re-opened at the end of June with brand new renovations that give it a fresh look. It is very clean and has great daily specials. The weekend brunches and evening specials offer good value. The social distancing measures have removed some of the old friendly pub feel, but it may come back as crowds increase. The restaurant closes at 8 pm from Monday to Thursday, but is open until midnight on Saturdays and Sundays.
Lunch was a huge success! Had the Yorkshire to start (shared with hubby) and watch out as their horseradish is HOT! One of the best we have ever had. I think I can breath into 2020! And of course I HAD to try their award winning best burgers in Surrey so I had the Guinness BBQ with bacon, cheddar and crispy onions. This burger is a beast! I was one bite shy of finishing it. Upgrades the fries to a Cesar salad. A little to heavy on the dressing for my taste. Hubby got the beef dip and fries and he saved the horseradish from the Yorky and man that is one damn good beef dip! Fries are awesome too. Washed down with a Red Racer IPA and Wheat Ale. I can't believe I've only just gone here as it's so good, close to home and may just be our new pub of choose. Sherrill (sp? was on the bill) was a lovely waitress and fantastic service! 5 stars!
I moved to within a few blocks of here a year ago. Not really being much of a drinker, I hadn’t checked this place out. I’ve been looking around for the best fish and chips in the area. Their local newspaper did their “best of” list recently and I was surprised to see that Donegal’s was listed as the best fish and chips in Surrey. So I checked it out this evening. I prefer a light crispy batter and, being a pub, they use beer batter. It was excellent. The fish tasted fresh, the French fries were fresh cut and the coleslaw was tasty too and looked like it was probably hand cut too. To top it off, the tartar didn’t taste like mayo with some pickle. And finally, when our amazing server Justine (she was really on the ball! dropped off our bill, I discovered that it was on special on Friday. $30 for 2 orders of 2 piece cod, a beer and a pop. I shall return.
