Chefe Daniel - Surrey

We have been here a few times. Both times we have asked Chefe Daniel's wife Debbie what he has off menu. We have had some lovely calamari and pastas both times made for our daughter at this locally unique Portuguese restaurant. We have been really happy there. The service was excellent, we drank a nice Portuguese rose and had 2 different pastas and a cornish hen cooked nicely. The rose was a pleasant surprise.Chefe Daniel makes his own Peri Peri sauce, light jalapeño or BBQ sauce, all quite nice. All three times we have been there the chef was walking around and chatting with folks. He was telling me he works with a local high school doing some training with kids. I really like this place.

We went to Chefe daniel's for food and entertainment. The restaurant has a number of different dining areas, with interesting decor. Even though it was quiet for a friday night, the service was exceptional, and the food was good at a reasonable price for the free entertainment, which was included for a fun night.

My wife and I stopped in recently and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The staff are attentive, friendly and professional. It's a charming space that is immaculately clean.My rib-eye was flavourful and cooked exactly as I requested. My wife's seafood pasta pleased her immensely. Chef Daniel came out to say hello and ask how our meal was.It's not at the level of fine dining in Vancouver (ex. butter for bread is in little plastic packages) - but it's close. Surrey needs more places like this.We'll definitely go back.

The room is warm and inviting and the staff was friendly. The menu however if you were not a fan of seafood or lamb, left you with a very limited selection. The food we had was fantastic but the limited menu doesn't leave us excited to return to try much else. However if Seafood and lamb are things you like you may enjoy the menu more than us. Enjoy.

A group of 11 had reservations for dinner here, I can honestly say it was the worst meal we have ever had. After waiting for our meal for 1 1/2 hrs. Half of them were sent back. 6 Steak dinners were ordered, only 1 was edible. Way, way to overpriced. The chef was extremely rude, did not like to hear our complaints at all. Avoid this place, I just don't even know how this place is still in business.
