Chaba Thai Restaurant - Surrey

My husband and I went to Chaba Thai for dinner. We were the only customers in the restaurant at the time. The food was very tasty, but the service was inconsistent. We were seated and got our menus right away, and the food arrived quickly, but then our server was nowhere to be found when we wanted to pay our bill and leave. We ended up walking to the till and waiting for a staff person to show up. As we were the only ones there, we didn't need a bill to show what we had eaten.

We discovered this restaurant at lunch today. It looks a little "greasy spoonish" from the outside but don't judge a book by the cover and trust the reviews you see on Trip Advisor. All lunches are $9.95 which includes a tasty small salad (greens and carrot with a yummy dressing), a scrumptious spring roll (one of the best we've ever eaten and not greasy at all), and your choice of dish. We both had the noodle pad Thai. Yum, yum and more yum. The flavors were terrific, the dish hot and spiced to our liking (mild please). The chef, herself, comes to the table to check out our satisfaction. She talked about how her husband wondered why she wanted to open a place in the alley instead of the street front. "They will come for the food" she told him. And, that is what is happening. Don't miss out on this hidden gem!

Chaba Thai is an absolutely wonderful little restaurant in my neighbourhood. The owners are amazing. The food is delicious, prepared to taste exactly as if you were in Chaing Mai. The decor of the restaurant makes you feel as if you are in Thailand. The restaurant itself is located on a back road between downtown Cloverdale and the Legion. People look for it and be sure to make Chaba Thai one of your favourite stops.

Decided to try Chaba Thai for lunch and we were certainly very happy with this spot. It is located in the alley directly behind the legion. We visited for lunch and they have several lunch choices that come with soup, salad and spring roll. The meal was very good, service very good and will return for sure. All food was perfectly prepared. I had pad Thai and my guy had cashew chicken. We had lots leftover to take home.

Love coming here for lunch! The food is always good! love the deal where you get a huge lunch and soup and spring roll for about $10. I usually have the left over for dinner! So glad they opened up in Cloverdale!
