Bidrage med feedbackThe owners are taking advantage of their customers, and the food safety is questionable. We were shocked to pay $3 for a can of soda and to find only one staff member managing everything. Out of the 10 tables, only 2 were clean, and I noticed them leaving tartar sauce out in the heat, which is not safe for consumption. The prices are excessive, and we won’t be returning. The coleslaw was unappetizing, and the pieces of fish were disappointingly small. We are boycotting this restaurant and will warn our friends and family to avoid it as well. Shame on the greedy owner and his incompetent staff!
This was our first visit, and unfortunately, it will also be our last. Our server neglected to bring our drinks, the seafood chowder was underwhelming, and the fish and chips were average at best. When we requested a refill, we discovered that our server was nowhere to be found. After reading some reviews, we now understand why some people recommend avoiding Al Jan's.
I stopped by for a late lunch while I was in the area. The fish had an unusual triangular shape instead of the usual strip, and I appreciated the thin batter, as it wasn't greasy. However, I found the chips to be quite soft and soggy; I really prefer my fries to be crispy. Despite this, I ended up eating most of the meal because I was hungry. The person who took my order was on the phone the entire time I was there, which was a bit distracting. Overall, I don't think I'll return; I’ll stick to Cockney Kings and Sea Lovers Padjo in Steveston, where the chips are consistently nice and crisp. Plus, they're closer to where I live (except for Padjo’s).
I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant and can no longer recommend it. The customer service was poor, and I was misled about the portion sizes. Even after confirming our order over the phone and making the payment, they forgot several items. To make matters worse, the food was burnt, as if it had been left in the fryer for too long. My family has been loyal customers for over a decade, but it’s safe to say we’re moving on for good. It's truly unfortunate, especially since I previously recommended this place to others. The attached photos illustrate what they claimed were three portions of chips, but we only received two half-portions that were charred beyond recognition. This will definitely be our last visit.
This restaurant is nestled in a corner of the mall, and I first noticed it after leaving the grocery store. I opted for their single-piece cod dinner, which comes with coleslaw and a dinner roll, and I was genuinely impressed. It certainly deserves a perfect 5-star rating. The restaurant was busy but not overly crowded, with takeout being particularly popular. They offer an all-you-can-eat special for just $21 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, which includes a drink. I definitely plan to return to experience the all-you-can-eat option for myself. During my visit tonight, the service was outstanding, the food was delicious, and the staff greeted us with warm smiles. Thank you!
