Driveway hard to see and we passed it. Had to turn around. Owner seated us and communicated that server was catching up and would be with us soon. We were a party of 9. Food was excellent, service a bit slow. Kind of pricey but voodoo salad and breaded shrimp are worth it. Place is kind of rundown. Men's bathroom lock was hard to use so someone walked in on my son and my husband walked in on someone else. My 9 year old noticed art on the wall was a woman with bare breasts. Waitress was great. She highly recommended voodoo salad and I'm glad she did. They were out of romaine lettuce but it was still excellent with mixed greens. Kids Mac n cheese was Kraft. Waitress told us that when we ordered.
This place is awesome, the steak is tender, the sea hawgs are delicious especially the dill sauce. The voodoo salad was sooo good... We also had the gumbo and clefe chips (fried pickles) everything is delicious. The only complaint is the portions are a little small but that can totally be fixed by ordering more food.
Love this place and keep coming back! Authentic Cajun and Creole food. I love putting together my own sampler platter with jambalaya, Maque Choux (pronounced mock shew), and gumbo because I can never decide. Love as well! My husband often gets their Etouffee or a Po Boy. We enjoy Gator Teeth as a starter. A lot of folks talk about the Sea Hawgs, but I don't think they are as special as the rest of their food. Their food is obviously prepared from scratch; I appreciate how much work it takes to get so many amazing flavors to meld in. Full bar and really good desserts that frequently change up. Atmosphere is old tables and chairs, but they keep it clean. The owners are friendly and all the team members work hard.
What a cool place. My friend and I ate there for dinner, food was great, atmosohere very neat, service was amazing, including getting to meet the owner Dean when he sat down with us to talk to him. Can't wait to come back!!
