We had a great experience at this restaurant when we pre-booked for 10 girls to celebrate our children's birthdays. After spending the morning at Wet and Wild, we brought 6 11-year-olds and 4 14-year-olds to the restaurant. Although it was very busy, our table was ready and the staff were incredibly helpful. There were various themed teas available, but we chose the traditional option with a variety of sandwiches, cheese scones, Victoria sponge cake, cheesecake, and cream tea scones. The children were famished after their morning activities and devoured almost everything on the table. My husband and I were also very full, but every bite was delicious and we found ourselves wanting more. The cheese and pickle scones were my husband's favorite, while I couldn't get enough of the cheesecake. The attention to detail in the food, including the homemade jam, was impeccable. Despite some previous reviews mentioning slow service times, we found that good things come to those who wait. We will definitely be returning to this restaurant in the future.

Visited at the weekend for the first time for unicorn afternoon tea for two adults two kids as well as my 4 week old baby. I rang ahead to check there would be space for her pram (I'm a first time mam so still a little anxious when it comes to taking her out! but the staff were so so lovely and accommodating!! I felt so at ease with her there and was also able to breastfeed comfortably. As well as that all of the food was lovely, and a good choice of drinks too including pink unicorn hot chocolate for the kids...amazing value when you think it's only £7.50 per afternoon tea including a drink. The children shared one as it was enough for them so was only £22.50 total for us all...Unbelievable! Im shocked at how cheap it was actually and would happily have paid more. Would definitely recommend, but book in advance as its popular on a weekend and was fully booked the day we went so I'm glad we booked (but didn't feel at all packed or overcrowded, I appreciate they don't ram people in to give you the best possible experience Thank you. We will be back! :

I 'm at a loss to why this place comes so highly rated... in fairness my problem is more the actual environment. By secret garden it implies a little hidden gem but in reality it means the back lane entrance passed the bins into a the back room of a cake shop. The seating area Is actually quite nice but if you draw the short straw your table is over looking what looks like a flooring shop. The whole set up is completely bizarre! There 's a full set up of wood flooring for sale, literally packs of the stuff out on display?! The toilet has some lovely decorative pieces but it was freezing and grim, grubby walls and a chipped toilet seat. We were reminded twice on our visit that the worker had been called in on her day off stating if I see another unicorn... as they 're being inundated by requests for their special unicorn afternoon tea. What I can only assume was the weekend under age worker/helper was in a full tracksuit uniform. She was young so I won 't comment on customer service but even if she 's their daughter or whatever she needs to smarten up as is doesn 't give a good impression I know I 'm sounding negative but I was just aghast and had honestly expecting this little twee experience not the back of shop! Getting on to the food, it was fantastic value for what you paid but the quality reflected that too. I wouldn 't personally go back but I 've tried it and enjoyed the food, it was good for the cheap price. Just a bit taken back but the set up. It just wasn 't what I was expecting at all

We always visit this gorgeous little tea room and yesterday we had the afternoon tea delivered to work. It was AMAZING!!! Food to die for, service fantastic and so reasonably priced!! I love it and highly recommend to all!!
