Nudo Sushi Box Sunderland

My daughter and nipped in here, we didn’t have long to grab some lunch and wanted something quick and relatively healthy. There were so many vegetarian and vegan options, the staff were friendly, the place was basic but clean and ideal for a quick meal. We both agreed that we would return and try some of the other dishes as the food was really good!

Honestly its the worst sushi I have ever had the misfortune to eat. We picked our favourites and ended up throwing it in the bin... what a waste of money and food. Its not even wheelchair friendly. Door is too narrow, nowhere to sit and even then they charge you extra.

Yes, this is the best restaurant in Sunderland. Unfortunately, some of the more unique sushi options on the Nudo menu are not always available at the Sunderland location. For example, they never have the fish roe Gunkan or the lovely lotus root. It seems like they have a slightly smaller menu during the current COVID-19 period, or maybe they are making fewer dishes. Despite this, it is still a special treat, especially if you don't visit town often.

This restaurant is conveniently located in the center of town. They offer very tasty sushi with a good selection of options. The staff is friendly and accommodating. I would deduct one point because I find the sushi to be a bit pricey compared to other filling options available. However, this is a common issue with sushi restaurants in general and not specific to this establishment. Additionally, there is a seating area upstairs where customers can take advantage of the half-price offer on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays in August.

The sushi here always tastes really fresh, and the different combinations/selections are very cohesive overall I love the sushi here! The tables are always clean and tidy too. I’d say it’s borderline overpriced, but not more so than similar establishments. Service is very neutral; the staff does seem to have much enthusiasm for their job or for life in general, but they’re not rude. Also, I find the selection can be a bit lacking here, particularly if you go later in the day.
