East Bay Deli Summerville

The sandwiches were excellent! I had the Hot NY pastrami with mustard and pickles on a roll, and it was just what I hoped for. My boss tried the Chicken Charleston and was very pleased with it! I would have given this place a full 5 stars, but the fries were cold. This Summerville location will definitely be a regular stop for our Friday lunches!

Similar to their other locations, this one is clean and efficient. It’s a significant improvement compared to typical sub sandwich shops. Fortunately, I haven’t encountered any crowds here, unlike at many of their other locations. It might get busy, but I haven't experienced that yet. I really enjoy the French Dip here and prefer it over what other restaurants offer.

I was told that this place is an excellent alternative to standard fast food. I ordered the Roast Beef with Au Jus for dipping, along with a salad and a slice of Red Velvet cake. The cake was huge, and I found myself questioning a few times whether it was too much for one person. Everything was delicious! It leaned towards the more expensive side, but I felt it was worth it. The waitstaff was friendly, and the restaurant wasn’t too crowded during my visit. Overall, I had a wonderful experience.

I ordered the cranberry turkey crescent sandwich, and it was full of flavor. I would have preferred a bit more cranberry, but that's just my personal preference. The restaurant was clean, and the service was good.

I really dislike that they put condiment packets directly on the plates, right on top of the food. I find it unsanitary. The food is good, but the cooks need to be more consistent with how the dishes are presented. The toasted bread isn't always done correctly; sometimes it's over-toasted, while other times it's not toasted enough. I'm willing to give them another chance, though.
