Bidrage med feedbackThe French fries are so delicious that they don't even need ketchup. I highly recommend the Turkey club as well. The staff is fantastic and works really hard. This place is perfect for both families and individuals.
We started with appetizers: nachos and German JoJo's. The cheese dip on the nachos was outstanding, and the German JoJo's were fantastic! Everyone who ordered them raved about how delicious they were, which is impressive for a place that seems to cater mainly to bar patrons. For our meals, we each chose something different. My son had the French dip sandwich and loved it, while my son-in-law ordered the PB&J burger, saying it was an incredible mix of flavors. I tried it, and even though I'm not a fan of peanut butter, I found the burger quite good, with the jalapeño jelly adding a unique twist to the beef. Very impressive. I opted for what I believe was a Cajun onion soup, which was remarkable. It was warm and had a nice kick, likely from chili powder. It might have been one of the best soups I’ve had in a long time! However, I wish they had cut the onions smaller to fit the spoon better. Now, for the downside: I ordered the fried chicken and biscuits topped with white pepper gravy. Unfortunately, the chicken was way too salty. I kept needing to sip my drink with every bite. I usually salt my food before eating, but thankfully I didn’t do that this time, as my lips became dry with each bite. It seemed like the chicken had soaked in salt water before frying, and they definitely went overboard on the seasoning. Coming from the South, I believe you can't skimp on the gravy! I received two pieces of chicken with two biscuits, and about a quarter cup of gravy on both. They could have tripled that amount! Perhaps if there had been more gravy, it would have balanced out the excessive saltiness, but I’ll never know. My wife was also disappointed with her Philly cheesesteak, saying that the added pepper overwhelmed the dish after just one bite. Despite these negatives, I found the restaurant to be enjoyable and friendly. It's clear that they cater primarily to bar patrons. If we had visited later in the evening and had been drinking heavily, the stronger seasonings would likely appeal more to intoxicated customers. I’m already looking forward to my next trip to Summerville, and I hope to revisit this restaurant. Most of the food was great; only two out of the six meals were disappointing. Normally, that would deter me from returning, but we really loved what we enjoyed. We just need to be more selective in our choices and ask more questions. Would I recommend Dog and Duck? Yes! I hope to return in a few weeks to visit my daughter and her husband and try something new. I’m optimistic that a different choice could improve my ratings in the future.
If you’re in the mood for a French dip, skip Arby's and head straight to Dog Duck. They serve the best French dip I've ever tasted. Everything was fantastic, the service was top-notch, and I can’t wait to return. I give it a perfect 10/10!
They KILLED it. Best experience overall that I have had at a local restaurant in a very long time.We walked in with 4 families with 3 children each. The waitress and kitchen staff nailed our orders. Recommend adding this place on your go-to spots in Summerville.
Our server Anna was very friendly and sweet! I had the Greek Chicken Wrap which was very good. The chicken in it was moist and cooked just right, not over cooked. My wife had the Shrimp Wrap and it was also very good. The portions are very good for the price. We shared an order of Onion Straws and they we excellent! We each had a Labatt beer!! We haven't had a Canadian beer since moving here from NY. We really enjoyed it here and will be going back!!
