Phil's Family In Hot Spr

I’ve been coming here for years. It’s an hour and half from where I live to Hot Springs and I make a point to eat here nearly each visit to town. The food has always been excellent. Today for the first time I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak. Never again. I got a small pre fried and then frozen CFS that had been reheated in an oven or microwave. Abysmal. The only saving grace were the green beans which they take much care into making. With the quality of the other mains that I’ve had, I expect better from Phil’s.

We had lunch at Phil's and to say we were stuffed when we left is an understatement. I know a lot of people don't like liver and onions but I'm a big fan and this is the best I've had in ages. Huge portions and fantastic cornbread and sweet tea. My wife had rhe chicken tenders, fried okra and pinto beans, she had to take half of it to go. Highly recommend this place.

Small homey restaurant with fair prices and fairer portion sizes. Staff is friendly, prompt, and know the menu front to back to get you the best bang for your buck. Great place to slow down have a much needed meal before hitting the road again. A word of warning, one... ONE hotcake is enough.

The food was great. The waitress was very good. Really enjoyed it. The portions were big.
