I wanted to leave a review here because I believe that small establishments like this one often go unnoticed.
I have visited this restaurant five times and have always ordered the ribeye steak. I did the same last night. We arrived a little late, but the restaurant was full and bustling.
I went to Maria's Cosy corner as my dad used to take me there when I was a little as it had that old fashioned diner atmosphere. I took my son there and the atmosphere is now grungy dump with poor lighting. The service was passible at best but the food itself is the bigger issue. I was hoping for a good diner clubhouse with fries and my son was having the bacon cheeseburger and fries. Well my clubhouse turkey although real was ice cold and the sandwich itself had a soggy texture to it, nothing about it was right. The fries were minimal and okay but once again not special. My son's burger was not even home made (yes I can tell the difference) and the bacon on his burger was really undercooked. He had 3 bites left and noticed a hair on his burger which is not acceptable, his fries also were minimal and not special. The cost of the meal was not economical for the menu items we ordered and all in all it this place is a DIVE. Don't bother going here there is nothing about this place worth stopping in for and if you are looking for the diner experience don't look here.
We were looking for a place to have breakfast. Eggs, toast etc. What you cannot get at Tims or Mcdonalds. We stumble into this one by driving down Notre Dame Ave. The min we walked in we felt so welcomed. I felt right at home like visiting at your aunts house. The place is stuck in time but fun to look around at all the tacky things. The owner is a french elderly lady full of pep a real insparation. The food was excellent, served on time and our waitress was fun to joke with.
