Our stay in Stuttgart was short, but unforgettable, mainly due to our meal at Vinothek am Schlossgarten! Don't miss it. The wine list is an amazing showcase of wines from the region and, as a good "vinothek" is organized so you can order and try small portions of the wines. We each had three different wines with our meal. Heaven! The wines were so good that we bought--yes, they'll sell you bottles to go!--two bottles to bring home (wines that you cannot find in the USA). The food was exquisite, and the menu, although small, was varied and offered many tempting choices. We ordered appetizers and wine, and took our time going over the menu. So glad we did. We sat on the balcony overlooking the gardens, which was perfect on a very warm afternoon. The service was impeccable (without fussing); the waiters were friendly, spoke English, and were willing to answer all the questions we had. We felt at ease, comfortable, and welcomed. The atmosphere was elegant (without pomposity). The food: delicious, fresh ingredients, layers of flavor. We loved each one of the dishes ordered (listed below), and wondered about the ones we did not try. If we had not left Stuttgart the next day, we would have returned. I categorized the food as German below, but this is top-notch food, farm to table, that infuses a contemporary fusion flair into some regional dishes. While having the appetizers, I was already in food high heaven. If you are in Stuttgart, run to this restaurant.

The Vinothek is a small restaurant within the Althoff Hotel building with its own character.Staff were friendly and personable, while the extensive wine list and menu were good. Food quality was excellent.We had planned to visit for one night, but enjoyed it so much we returned! Very enjoyable. thank you

Sunday late afternoon lunch. Quiet atmosphere away from the crowds. Paprika Soup was outstanding along with the Sunday special, Spanferkelrollbraten! Excellent flavor.

I invited friends from abroad to this place hoping to eat something delicious. It didnt disappoint. The meat dishes were excellent. The maultaschen were also good. The portion were as expected. The Schweinbällchen tasted great. The mash was too little and made the dish light. ( which is fine for dinner but for a man it might be too light) Prices are above average but i think it reflects the quality. The menu is varied enough for all to find something. All in all a good choice.
