The Embankment - Stratford-upon-Avon

Eating was excellent, only a scandal they had to order on their phone. the restaurant was empty when we came there and no personal could help us to order as they need to do it themselves

To be fair to the restaurant, I have not tried the food and can’t comment on quality. I can comment on customer service and general lack of organisation. My family (4 people) tried to eat here twice in three days. We made a reservation on OpenTable on Saturday, but when we arrived the restaurant was booked for a private party and we ended up running to make Cox’s Yard before the kitchen closed (Cox’s Yard I can recommend for decent food, fast service… and a kitchen that actually takes orders to 9 pm). On Monday we arrived and were told at the entrance that food was still being served so we sat down. The ordering app wasn’t working but we grabbed some menus from a neighbouring table so we knew what we wanted before the server came back. By the time anyone appeared again (10 minutes), we were told it was now too late and kitchen was closed for orders. Back to Cox’s Yard for a second visit. Having been stung twice by service issue, I am hesitant to book a third time in case we are let down again.

Gret food, very helpful staff, lots of seating in outdoors,overall a good place to visit

We have booked the restaurant on open table. I thought we had a table. when we came to the restaurant, it was locked for a function. they said they had contacted you to complete the open table reservations. we thought we had a nice table for Saturday night, instead we had to wonder about stratford on avon to eat somewhere else. most places were booked! not happy! not happy for a Saturday night!

Booked a table for mine and my girlfriends anniversary, turned up was seated to food menus and people behind us eating. Was told to order online where we then found out it said they are not serving food, so we ask and they said we aren’t serving food tonight as we have 2 party’s, there was no warning that they weren’t. No apology either.
