Bidrage med feedbackThere is no food in this restaurant, no steak, no shrimp, no chicken wings, unbelievable! They should write the menu on a chalk board and offer far fewer choices. Deserted on a Friday night like the entire town of Strasburg, which has become a ghost town. Very sad. Despite its charm, no business can survive here due to lack of patronage, and this one will soon fold too. Just drive right on through. If you are here, leave or ask for the hamburger. It is acceptable and appears to be handmade and thick.
Decided to stop by for an early dinner with my wife. Only in town for one night, and the old mill appearance drew me in. The atmosphere inside is amazing, comfortable, rustic, and simple. The owner himself, who is hilarious and has a great personality, took excellent care of us. Get the corn pudding if it's available.. it's delicious. The meatloaf, brisket, poppers.. everything was good. Tried to challenge this small place with a very picky martini and the owner came back with flawless drinks. Appears that there is a decent selection behind the bar as well. The absolute best part of our experience was the espresso. One of the best I've ever had and none of the chains could touch these. He has plenty of flavors and options for just about everything. I suggest you stop in and challenge them..
The last thing I expected to find in Strasburg was amazing Puerto Rican food, but that is just what happened. This place looks unassuming but is the absolute best thing in town. I am hispanic, grew up in Miami and love, love, love food, so when I heard the owner's accent and saw the menu, I took a gamble and ordered my favorites. I started with tostones, and while they were smaller and thinner than I am used to, they were amazingly fresh and better than expected. The mojo (garlic dipping sauce was spot on. The second thing we had were wings. I asked them to mix them in the mild and bbq together and holy smokes, they were so good. They were fresh fried to perfection, and the sauce was to die for. I'll be dreaming about those wings for months. Lastly, I ordered a mofongo, a plantain mash with beef. Unfortunately, the beef was dry, but no one noticed because the fries were hand cut and fresh, and the corn pudding was love in a cup. This place is by no means perfect, but that's part of its charm. Don't miss out on this little surprise.
Ended up there after an accident shut down I-81. My son and I loved the historic ambience. Barkeep poured a mean G&T. Told my husband about it and that we were going back sometime, which we did do. He ordered the salmon and said it was grilled to perfection. He enjoyed his meal. The only reason we didn't go the 5th star was their current lack of beer on tap. The owner was there and we had a nice conversation with him. He is trying to live the American dream and we will support him as often as we can. Yes, it is a quiet environment but that is what we enjoy. If the walls could talk we would love to listen to the stories.
Pretty good food, country pub ambiance. I have not been there to see the live music. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
