Bidrage med feedbackWe decided to eat here largely because of the good reviews on this site. It did not fulfil its promise. Now, you will have ‘Alsatian food’ and you will be able to bring it down, especially if you are hungry. But good cooking this is not. The chef cannot salt his food properly, let alone anything else. A tourist trap if I ever saw one, the only saving grace being that it is not quite as overpriced as such places can get. P. S. Avoid cheaper wines.
This restaurant was recommended to us by the Office of Tourism in Strousbourg. We decided to go for dinner; we made reservations. Our meals were excellent. The restaurant serves traditional Alsace food. I had the pork shank cooked in honey and beer with roasted potatoes; husband had the traditional ham with crust and raw vegetables plus onion soup. The, the ham was tender and cooked perfectly, and the pork was like butter and so flavorful. The onion soup was presented so nicely and was so tasty. We wished we could have had dessert but we were too full. This is an excellent restaurant; service was also very good and staff friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.
Wonderfully cozy little restaurant that believes in making everything from scratch with local products and promoting local wineries only.
We were warmly welcomed despite not having a reservation. We think the owner himself served our table, and he made excellent wine recommendations. The decor is very light wood, plaid tablecloths, and a very cozy and charming atmosphere. We enjoyed escargot, the traditional choucroute platter, muenster with ham and potatoes, and the dessert of the day was a delicious plum crumble. Prices are very reasonable. The perfect way to end our last day in Strasbourg.
This restaurant is centrally located but a bit off the main tourist routes. This was my first night in Strasbourg so I was looking for traditional Alsatian food. The chef seems to have a lighter hand in preparing the dishes so they are a little more delicate and not so big. It was raining and a Saturday night so I went early "the American hour" and without a reservation. The restaurants get crowded in the tourist areas so I recommend making a reservation although it is casual. They have a decent list of Alsation rieslings among other wines. My food was good. Foie gras is one of the major food groups in Alsace along with Munster cheese. This is a cozy winstub and does not feel too touristy.
