Bidrage med feedbackMy family and I recently visited Stowe, VT and had dinner at this restaurant. We started with a salad, vegan crabcakes, and a tomato and crispy tofu salad. For our main courses, we enjoyed the homemade veggie burger, roasted cauliflower with garlic quinoa, and mushroom fettucini without sausage but possibly with a hint of cream. We also indulged in wine, coffee, and non-vegan desserts, along with a raspberry sorbet that was just average. The meal was fantastic overall, despite the high bill. It would have been great if they offered dairy-free ice cream for the bananas foster and lowered the music volume, as we were seated right under the speakers.
There was only one vegan choice on the menu and the quality of the food was mediocre.
I ordered the vegan crab cakes and they were delicious! My husband got the veggie burger with potatoes, which had a very hearty patty and he really enjoyed it. I had the spaghetti squash with veggies and tofu, along with a side of asparagus, and I absolutely loved the flavors in the plant milk curry sauce. The drinks were fantastic and the service was excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant.
The Plate is a noteworthy restaurant in Stowe, known for its eclectic menu and positive vibe. The locally sourced food is delicious in small to average portions. I was surprised to find only 1 vegan appetizer, 1 vegan salad and 1 vegan entree on the menu. Very limited. No vegan desserts. Kudos to them for having the option of adding tofu to my salad, but that brought the price of my small salad to $20. The vegan entree a tofu vegetable stir fry was very tasty, but the smallish portion at $26 was a bit pricey. After spending $64 for a 3 course meal without drinks I was still hungry, as nothing like bread is include with the meal without paying an additional $7.
This place is delicious and will be suitable for finding a few vegan menu items. Jamie was so sweet and gave us this amazing vegan cheese. GET THE VEGAN CRAB CAKE! We will be back for sure.
