Rocks 21 - Stonington

It feels like every time we visit, the hostess has an issue with us. Today, we were denied outdoor seating, even though there were plenty of open tables available. We were turned away when we requested to sit outside, despite the many outdoor dining spaces that Rock offers.

Unfortunately, this seems to happen quite often these days. The customer service made it feel like they were doing us a favor by attending to our party of four.

The restaurant was quite dirty, and unfortunately, after we finished our meal, we noticed hundreds of ants crawling on the dining room floor. It was too late to address the issue at that point. When we requested an extra plate to share a dish, we received one that was wet. Nobody checked on us for 15 minutes after our meal, and I had been waiting for mayonnaise for my burger. After lunch, we went to the restroom, and the garbage was overflowing. Overall, I'm very disappointed.

I recently visited Rocks 21, and while the food was just okay, with very fishy fish and chips and clam strips that were mostly batter, the atmosphere made up for it. Once the first performer, whose songs had excessive cussing, left, the place really improved. However, the server kept forgetting to bring out our drinks, which was frustrating. The band that played afterward was amazing and brought great energy. It's a fantastic spot for happy hour or late-night live music, but I wouldn't return for dinner.

The burger and fries were excellent. I do not recommend the Chicken Milanese as it was deep fried, overcooked and dry. As there were four of us, unfortunately three guests were not pleased with there meal. The location and water view is outstanding.
