Perhaps it was our fault for thinking this was a real restaurant. When we arrived, they were not at all prepared for us. The server pushed two tables of unequal sizes and heights together to accommodate our group of 8. The tables had nothing but cloths on them...no cutlery or service of any sort. There was no menu. She told 4 of the 8 of us what was on offer and then came around to inquire if we had all decided without informing the other 4 what was to eat. When we finally received our choices (from only 4 entrees, no starters or salads), two of the plates arrived a full 10 minutes before the others received theirs. The food was cold, tough, and unappetizing. The veal parmesiano was thick and tough. The veal on a bun was thick and tough and the buns hard and impossible to eat. The lasagna was burnt on the bottom and served with 3 slices of bread without butter or oil. Dismal food, dismal atmosphere, dismal service. Perhaps it is meant to be only a take-out place, but if so they should be upfront in their website. And even so, the quality of the food is abysmal. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.
The best breakfast spot in Woodland Hills, especially if you're in the mood for something more exciting than a basic omelette. The coffee here is also top-notch.
The food is excellent and so is the service! I absolutely loved the gluten-free pasta. The Arnold Palmer I had here was also the best I've ever had at this charming little restaurant.
I discovered Nicola's when I was searching for a new brunch spot. I have visited three times and my work has also ordered food for delivery from there.
