Charlie Bassett's Pub - Stoke-on-Trent

Been here a few times. Everything was lovely no complaints. However today was the first day of no table service. No booking. New menu. A very poor menu! Ordered at the bar. Food came then we had to go and get out own cutlery, sauces etc. I’m surprised we didn’t have to wash our own dishes. I won’t be returning. The food was dry and boring. It a great experience at all.

Went for Christmas dinner, food and choice was excellent, staff were helpful, professional and friendly, would strongly recommend.

We called in for a pint and some lunch. The staff are very welcoming and pleasant. The food is reasonably priced and very tasty , we enjoyed it so much that we booked an evening meal the following day and again it was tasty and very filling. It boasts a very big beer garden and also hosts a campsite which looks very well kept. We highly recommend this village pub

Came here with 4 friends for my birthday 2day( 31st aug We have been here a few times and everything is normally perfect ,well 2day it was shocking food was horrid ,service was even worse ,the staff,Didnt even look like they worked there,no uniform in jeans and cardigans playing with her nose ring in public standing and playing on phones never came back check on us food was horrible ,luke warm ,we wont b returning again,shame really as we have always enjoyed our visits

Nice country pub, nicely kitted out, but a place is only as good as its staff. Noisy. Food average. Lovely lampshades though.
