The Violet Green - Stockton-on-Tees

Just what Norton needs. Something that sets the rest apart from the bars and restaurants. Food is fantastic, some would say pricey, but you get what you pay for. Quality food and quality service. Been 4 or 5 times since opening and they're very welcoming. Cheers Anna and Chris

*Before the COVID-19 pandemic, my partner and I went for a surprise date night and mistakenly ended up at The Violet Green in Norton. The dining experience was excellent, with friendly staff, a great atmosphere, and it was conveniently located near us. I would definitely recommend it. The 12-year-old Japanese whisky was a standout choice as well.*

I had a wonderful dining experience at Violet Green yesterday evening. The venison was cooked to perfection and so juicy, it practically melted in my mouth. The puddings were fantastic and served in generous portions. The service was excellent and the ambiance of the restaurant was beautiful.

Excellent food. The vegetarian options were excellent. The steak was one of the best I've had and cooked perfectly rare. Did I need the oxtail pie with it? Probably not, but I'm happy it was there. Cauliflower cheese croquettes were something I could just eat a massive bowl of.

Consistently good experience at this restaurant. The atmosphere is pleasant and the dishes are expertly prepared. I would suggest mentioning the heavy use of black pepper on the menu if it's a prominent flavor. The chop night specials offer great value. The restaurant maintains good COVID safety measures, with proper spacing between diners for a safe dining experience.
