Lovely food and great music being played during our dinner. Kirstie and Freyja are both really attentive staff members and made us feel incredibly welcome. The Swedish customers upstairs at the bar were welcoming and friendly too which just added to our positive view of the place. Will definitely come back when we visit Stockholm again.

Came across it by accident, totally not the kind of place we would usually go to but thoroughly enjoyed it! Service was brilliant, obviously very popular, food was very tasty and the mead went down well. Give this place a try for an atmospheric eating experience.

We've been to similar types of medieval restaurants in Tallinn and Riga, so we were excited to try this one but found it disappointing. It's in a basement that is mostly lit with candles. There are no forks, just spoons and knives (aiming for historical accuracy). The food was tasty but the mead was very watery and lacked flavor. The service seemed very overworked and stressed. I felt sorry for them but at the same time I didn't enjoy the experience because they appeared somewhat unfriendly. The room is VERY loud and we could clearly hear conversations from tables on the other side of the room because of the vaulted ceiling. 2.5 out of 5 stars but rounded up because of the tasty food.

I’ve been here a few times and I whole heartedly recommend this place. It just has a really fun environment. It has a large selection of mead, beer and other drinks. It also has a menu made from authentic medieval recipes. And they are the real deal. All the food I have had has been genuinely delicious. If you are in gamla stan you definitely should try to check this place out.
