Bidrage med feedbackI decided to treat myself to Christmas dinner with some good friends, so I splurged on a hotel stay in Stockholm in order to avoid taking the train back that evening. When I arrived at the Mornington Hotel at five o'clock in the afternoon, I was greeted by a unique open-plan space with a bar, restaurant, lobby, and walls stacked with books from floor to ceiling. The hotel is known for its book-themed decor, which extends to the rooms as well. After a bit of confusion about where to check in, I was eventually assisted by a few staff members. However, I ran into a problem when I realized I had forgotten my ID in another bag. Despite having booked online and provided my credit card details, the hotel insisted they couldn't check me in without my ID for security reasons. After a prolonged attempt to verify my identity, they ultimately made an exception and allowed me to access my room. The room itself was average, with a double bed made up of two separate mattresses, basic amenities, and a lack of hand sanitizer despite the current circumstances. Disappointed by the lack of a minibar, I ventured down to the bar to order a drink, only to find the prices were steep and the non-alcoholic cocktail had a name considered too offensive for tripadvisor. Overall, my experience at the Mornington Hotel was underwhelming and lacked the level of service and amenities I expected from a four-star establishment.
Well, we had lunch here the other day and the food is not bad, but nothing wow about it either. And thinking of the price you pay for it, it's kind of not worth it in my opinion. The portions are small too, so I should've ordered a pre course I guess. But then again, for a lunch? I don't know. The staff however are super nice and friendly.
Although at first sight the selection at the brunch buffet may seem underwhelming when compared with some other Stockholm brunch buffets, it is actually quite adequate. The ingredients are fresh, but best are the humane prices (if one avoids anything alcoholic! and the friendly service.
Good choice of cold buffet items for breakfast, also some hot. Breads, crispbreads, jams, marmalade etc. A good breakfast. Evening meal. Small selection of starters, main courses and deserts. Those had were very good. Not fancy food but nicely prepared and presented.
I so enjoyed eating here while staying at the Mornington Hotel. The breakfast buffet is huge, with such an array of wonderful options to whet both the health-conscious and non-health-conscious palate. For dinner, I had the salmon salad and then the grilled char another time, and wow! Fresh ingredients, fish beautifully prepared! The staff for all-stars, very attentive and helpful, even when super busy (as they were even on weeknights ! Highly recommend :
