Bidrage med feedbackProper pub with a lot of history, and which is situated in a busy pedestrianised area of the city which seems a lot quieter in the evening. Very appealing and well maintained traditional pub interior; certainly no dump. There 's lots of dark wood, several olive trees around the room 's perimeter, and an impressive moose 's head mounted on a wall in the comfortable dining area to one side of the bar. The other end of the bar is rammed with tables and chairs, although drinking at the counter seems quite popular Not many punters in on the Sunday evening that we visited so plenty of room at the trough. Tempted by the description of some of their local specials on the fairly safe menu, I tried a wallenbergare which is basically a pork or veal patty (I suspect it was the former) on mash with some lingonberries and a few peas; about as ordinary as it sounds. Mrs EPR tried the swedish hash with a fried egg on top. Again, nothing too exciting mainly cubes of fried potato, frankfurter and processed ham. We looked longingly at a girl behind us lacing into a large striploin steak and felt that perhaps we had made a tactical error. Which was then compounded by our choice of desserts. Ice cream is not a very palatable mix with, basically, lager at the best of times but I did it anyway. The concoction I chose was supposed to come with lingonberries and cookie dough. I wasn 't overly impressed when it arrived with bananas and meringue pieces. Not quite the Lingon Dream as advertised. Mrs EPR 's sticky chocolate cake looked more the part. So not exactly the culinary experience to knock ones socks off, but the young staff were friendly and helpful, the drinks range was quite expansive and it was a nice place to spend some time in.
The food was yummy but the manager was rude when I left. I was going to go back tomorrow but no longer. His attitude was not good, he seemed to totally ignore me and expected a tip.
Service on arrival was average, the guy didn’t seem interested. We had to ask him how we ordered after viewing the menu. However the food was really nice. The Swedish Hash was very tasty and also the Salmon. Cold beer was enjoyed.
The man in the service was very friendly and was helping everywhere and everywhere. The ladies behind the bar and in the service are also friendly and service oriented. However, there was at least one employee too few for the service to be really good. Don't go here for fish and chips. Overcooked and very bland in taste. The fries weren't great either. In short: good service, pleasant atmosphere and mediocre food.
The food here was incredible! We were all able to enjoy traditional Swedish dishes here. However, the service was slow even by European standards and the tables were cramped very close together.
