Bidrage med feedbackWent on a Thursday night for date night, the live entertainment was a good vibe. The wine selection was amazing half priced on Thursday nights) and the food was a perfect match. The space around the restaurant is also beautiful, we walked around after dinner and discovered a garden yard games. As a black woman it wasn't very diverse at all, however it was a very welcoming environment. We will definitely be back.
An unfortunate way to celebrate a milestone birthday. I notified the restaurant we were celebrating a special birthday and asked if they could do a little something to make it special. Not only did we receive inattentive service, we were also seated at a table that was in the bar area and the only mention of the milestone birthday was from the server who barely acknowledged it when we sat down. I wasn't looking for cake and ice cream, but when you note a milestone birthday in the reservation at least you can be seated in the main dining area with a table that's not squashed between others.
The usual lovely service. The kitchen seemed a tad off tonight. I'm sure just an off night. Salmon was tasteless, mussels were gritty, lamb was great, filet mignon also excellent. Don't like leaving a mixed review for this truly excellent restaurant . . . very sorry. See you very soon for a do over.
One of few places on Kent Island with consistently good, high quality food closest thing you'll find to “Fine Dinning” on the Island. Service is always exceptional! They have a great outdoor space with a bar, a huge fireplace and lots of outdoor dinning tables, and the inside is also very nice. They have a private room you can book for a celebratory or private dinner. Great place for a nice date night. They also have some great specials like Thursday night was 1/2 price bottle of wine night! Live music on Thursday's is a bonus! This is in my top 3 on Kent Island (along with Libbey's and Amalfi Coast). Highly recommend!
We stopped in to see the inn and booked a dinner for later in the evening. The hostess was friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome when we return hours later for dinner. The dining room was obviously understaffed on Labor Day, but our waitress, Sarah C, worked hard attending to tables both inside and outside on the patio. The Caprese Flatbread is a terrific appetizer. The kitchen cooked my wife’s Rack of Lamb to her liking (well-done), which is a crime in my book, and tough to get a kitchen to do. She enjoyed them and was happy that they arrived as ordered when they reached the table. The Grilled Filet Shrimp was also cooked perfectly medium rare. The shrimp were good but unremarkable. The filet was a terrific cut of meat and prepared by someone who knows what they’re doing. We ordered a Negroni from the bar, but it took over 25 minutes to arrive at our table and was almost a clear color. So not a Negroni, or at least not a properly blended one. We sent it back without tasting it. We liked it enough that when we’re back in the area we’ll likely give Knoxie’s another visit. Our thanks to Sarah for hustling in what seemed like a seriously understaffed dining room, and keeping our meal on track. Dietary restrictions: Our server was very careful to check on possible cross contamination regarding a shellfish allergy.
