Bidrage med feedbackI actually didn't get to try the food, but it smelled fantastic when we walked in.
It began on a Sunday, September 24th. We entered, and it was very clear that the bar was nothing more than a drinking hole for sports fans. The barstools were populated with drunken bears-heads, who caused a great deal of discomfort to those around them. The bar itself showed its mediocrity when the burgers arrived. The meat was completely unseasoned, and most-likely frozen.
Went to Johnny’s twice in the three days I was in the Sterling/Rock Falls area. The first time I went there were some older gentleman at the bar who assumed I was picking up a DoorDash order, which is ironic because I DoorDash back home, but I of course told the bartenders I wasn’t there for that, I was there as a customer. I tried a Cherry Bomb Blonde for the first time, and after that time that just became my go to beer. Also I’ve never had cherries in my beer before so that was new too. They had plenty of food and drink choices and I was definitely full afterwards so got my money’s worth of food for sure. They were playing a bunch of classic hits in there as well so that was a nice touch for me personally. All in all, a nice chill place that I would go back to again whenever I’m in the area.
I had a couple of calzones that weren't made correctly last summer, so I hadn't returned to this place since then. Thankfully, we tried again recently and ordered pizza and wings, which were both outstanding. The service was fast, the food was amazing, and the prices were reasonable—what more could you ask for?
Unfortunately, the bartender was quite rude. While the food itself was decent, I was unexpectedly charged $20 in taxes. When I asked for clarification about my bill being so high, I was met with nothing but attitude and ultimately had to pay it anyway. I won't be returning.
