My Spanish friend and I happened to the Baita degli Scoiattoli while making a ring tour around Mount Nona and the Forcinto. I would have kilometers of words to write, but I regret everything by praying to God that this structure has long life because not only is it something rare (especially in these mountains), but ideally represents the values of socialization and of being in tune with the mountain. A first, three seconds, two contours, honey cheese (very good), a screaming tart because soft and tasty and then coffee, grappa and a fiasco of red wine, of the kind of those that go down easily and that they fool you into games made. Fifteen euros are too few, in fact, I left 20 because I was ashamed. Congratulations to iosa for those who manage this cabin and... thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you!!! !
After about an hour of a medium difficulty trekking journey you arrive at another time! At the hut the welcome is more than familiar... You're home. It is therefore normal to participate in the table equipment. Even if not obliged it deserves to book. The covers are limited, the table is unique and shared. The menu is not there... you eat what the mythical Italo decided in his morning walks is the great Ermete provided him with tops raw material; all cooked in the cheap wood kitchen. Essential flavors as essential is the place that hosted us. To recommend the summer dinner enjoying the sunset with Versilia in the distance is return with the torches that becomes the pleasant conclusion of an experience out of time. After a nice climbing to the nearby procinto we stopped from hermets...what to say simple and genuine food...you eat what there is...it seemed to be at the home of the grandmother, abundant portions and friendliness of the other commensali. A place of other times
We stayed at the bay of the squirrels with friends and girls after a nice excursion on the Apuans. We were greeted in this magical place with great warmth and sympathy and invited to stop us to shelter us from a long summer shower. What do you mean? We will return to the first opportunity to taste all the dishes with an inviting appearance we have seen pass. PS: Fruit jam tart is fabulous!
