Bidrage med feedbackThis is the best bar I?ve been to. If you haven?t been here yet, I suggest you visit. Their food is awesome, as well as their drinks. They are both friendly as well as kind! This is easily the best bar I?ve been to! Even if you don?t drink, you have toat least come here to see how perfect this place is.
If I could give zero stars I would! We went after a Penn State game and the place was less then 1/2 full. They had ONE Bartender, ONE Cook, and ONE waitress... right after a HOME OPENER WITH 105K+ people!!! The waitress who couldn?t have gonefaster or worked harder) was totally overwhelmed, and the Bartender, who was also the manager) was constantly running. Theyhave removed their board of drinks that show what they have and now use a QR code driven menu.. which doesn?t tell you as muchas your talk with the bartenders use to. Their is no interaction at all and it took 25 mins to get a second beer. To get asimple sandwich which tasted like a high school cafeteria) took AN HOUR! Their ?antipasto? had two pieces of meat, soakingwet greens, no cheese, one pepperocini, and 4 grape tomatoes. Their meatball subs are salty and all frozen and have microwavedmeatballs. They don?t serve 1/2 of what they use to and what they do serve is bad. The management set themselves up forfailure as the entire place is dysfunctional!! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!!!! Liberty Tavern should close!
This place has a great atmosphere with a great selection of beers on the hahn. They also offer spirits for those who prefer a cocktail. eating is okay.
The food was not bad but the beer was great! The interior and the general atmosphere along with the life music make it worthwhile. It is definitely one of the few places in State College that are worth trying. Don't forget to try the nitro coffee!
Haven't been recently, but visited in Spring of 2015 and was pleasantly surprised by Liberty's craft beer offerings. Lots of selection on tap, and while pricey for PA, it's still cheaper than a big-city beer. Having been back on multiple occasions, I'd recommend the flatbread pizza(s) as an appetizer with beer(s) and then heading elsewhere for dinner.
