Bidrage med feedbackI honestly wish I could remove the yelp minimum 1 star and give this place a very solid zero. The food was awful. I could have been mistaken but it seemed that the only food available was one of four dishes, this was evidenced by The menu identifying either repas de midi (noon meals) or repas du soire (evening meals). The four evening meal dishes were Lamb merguez with couscous, vegetable couscous, Duck confit and salmon. I ordered the lamb, wife ordered duck confit. We ordered a bottle of wine to share Our server sat down at a desk to put our order, already placed with the kitchen, into their PoS, when an older lady approached her the, two were in earshot and I was clearly able to hear her say, in french, I told you earlier we were out of the couscous . I braced for the inevitable but didn 't think anything of it as The waitress didn 't say anything about it when she delivered my wife 's salad. I felt relieved. Until fifteen minutes later she came back with the news she 'd had for at least twenty minutes. And said do you want to order something else . In retrospect, I should have said no. I don 't like fish or duck...duck is my preferred evil. She disappeared behind the wall and came back about a minute later with our two meals. 1 Confit duck with cranberry sauce. 2 veggies: string beans, zucchini, red peppers 3 scoop of parboiled basmati rise 1 duck confit A solid quarter inch of fat on top of the meat absolutely drowning in cranberry sauce. The confit looks as though it came directly out of the bag and onto the plate, it wasn 't crisped up, no Maillard reaction, just boiled in fat. Cranberry sauce was overly bitter. Meat was so painfully salty that it took three or four glasses of water just to get through it. 2 veggies The string beans were over cooked and mushy. The zucchini was the star of the whole meal. 3 parboiled rice. I don 't know if I really need to say any more than this side would have been improved if it was served with an ice cream scoop. Old french music playing in the back ground does not a fine dining experience make. Several other reviews have said they have an excellent wine list. There were 5 reds, 5 whites, one sparkling, 2 rose. I 've seen more extensive lists at Boston Pizza. This was the worst meal of my life, and I 've eaten hot dog soup. I honestly wish we had celebrated my 35th birthday at a McDonald 's.
If I could dine at this restaurant every day, I would! This charming country house, surrounded by gardens, is like a little piece of paradise. The nostalgic music playing in the background, combined with the beautiful setting and the hostess from Brittany, France, really make you feel like you've found the perfect spot for delicious buckwheat and sweet crêpes. Enjoying traditional Bretagne cider, homemade cheese, ham and egg, and Catalan crêpes, as well as an organic salad from Marie's porch, was a truly blissful experience. The sweet banana and chocolate crêpe, as well as the sweet fruit crêpe with fresh ice cream, were the perfect ending to a wonderful meal. I can't wait to come back and dine here again. This will always be one of my favorite memories with my family!
Such a underrated hidden gem at the border! Lovely place with delicious food. The owner was such a sweet lady. We had such a relaxing and delicious meal here. All the food was prepared with lots of care and detail and tasted absolutely marvelous!!! I would have missed this location if it weren't for Yelp. From the outside, it looks a house. I had to get back to Boston, otherwise I totally would have been back for dinner! The rabbit and salmon dishes are only served at night.... We had the coucous and crepe, both were heavenly! I need to find another excuse to go back!!!
This charming restaurant is located just a short distance from the border, giving off a vibe reminiscent of a quaint village in France. The rustic decor and beautiful art on the walls set a cozy atmosphere, and the tables on the porch offer a picturesque view of the town. The food was expertly prepared and served by a friendly young woman. We began with a delicious beet and chard soup garnished with edible flowers, followed by a crepe filled with Québécois rabbit sausage, local cheese, and a béchamel sauce. It was absolutely delicious. Overall, a truly magnificent dining experience.
My husband ordered the lamb merguez, but we were informed after I had already started my salad that they had run out. The waitress then offered him the choice of salmon or duck instead. He chose the duck, which he also did not enjoy. Overall, we found the food to be overpriced and not of good quality. We would not recommend this restaurant to others.
