Spark Espresso at the old bakery

I loved the coconut chicken and salad with crispy noodles at this restaurant. The ambiance was beautiful, with 60s hits and Chicago playing on the sound system. The only downside was that I was charged $15 instead of the listed price of $14.50 on the menu, but I didn't want to make a fuss.

The coffee is excellent, the service is very good, and the menu is intriguing. What more could you ask for? I definitely plan on returning.

The Old Bakery (TOB) is now Spark Espresso one of four coffee shops that I travel to Stanmore station. For such a small village, four coffee shops seem excessive as a fifth option (Papercup) on the other side of the... the train lines are available. Over the past four years, I have probably stopped at TOB once or twice, although it was the first option until six months ago. Little Mule was always my way to the coffee break until her long-term barista went and it was met and missed since then (more miss when I am open). I'm not sure if Spark Espresso has new owners or adds new partners, but the name change with a drastic improvement of their coffee has turned the café. The food was always really good, but that was not enough to attract me in the face of the weak and sometimes bitter coffee. Not sure if coffee beans, barista, machine or all three? Whatever they have changed with the name, it seems to work. Stop the good work. The Good: Coffee now tastes like coffee (wood fired I think) Good mood, more modern feeling food choices and taste (as it was always) Several copies of morning stairs child labor friendly (if flexible working option) Great place to meet and chat indoor and outdoor seats The Bad: Some food options expensive (but large portions and taste super) i.e. $9.5 for egg roll The team during the efficient could smile a little more No Wifi (but double check as this may have changed) dogs bark outside. This is both a good and bad thing as they are dog friendly The ugly: Nothing to report Summary: Spark Espresso (at The Old Bakery) had a much needed injection of life without sacrificing its history and is better for it. While waiting for your coffee, read about the history of the building. It's fascinating.

In an area with a lot of choice, Spark Espresso is a great find. The full-day breakfast menu is a highlight, I had the oats and fruits that was exactly what I felt, although it was 3pm. The staff is really friendly and... it has a pleasant atmosphere. My partner who is very fussy about his coffee loved coffee. We will definitely make it one of our regular hunting.

I recently visited the Old Bakery Café and was impressed by their great coffee, delicious food, and friendly staff. The dishes were fresh and reasonably priced. I particularly enjoyed the coconut chicken salad for lunch and the bacon and egg roll with coffee for breakfast. The French Toast was also a highlight. I highly recommend this cafe for a satisfying meal.
